Jack of all trades, master of none...

i have always hated this phrase.
but now, i realize it is because it is incomplete...

the complete and authentic epithet is:

"Jack of all trades, master of none, though ofttimes better than master of one"

now that is MUCH better. and how true.

Specialization requires a perfect environment, in which a deviation from that will result in the specialty which it possess being unable to be exercised.

Jack of all trades, it's specialism is being adaptive. Being a jack of all trades, in itself is a specialism, in adapting and learning.

Survival, has never favored the master of one. It's far too volatile to.
